Expanded polystyrene (EPS), known in Greece as styrofoam, is a lightweight, heat-insulating material used in construction and other applications. It is produced from polystyrene granules, which are thermoplastic. As they swell, the grains grow and become pellets, which swell more and stick together. Expanded polystyrene is produced in large blocks, which are cut into slabs or molds directly in the form of mold, such as boxes, trays for seedlings, etc. The name FELIZOL comes from the 1st known company in Greece that produced it, which sold cork insulation. The scientifically correct terminology is Expanded Polystyrene because the raw material of EPS is produced by the polymerization of styrene, but the name polystyrene has prevailed to this day.

EPS 80 (EPS Graphite Gray)

Thermal insulation material of high thermal resistance produced from expanded polystyrene with the addition of graphite. Can be used on interior and exterior surfaces for building applications of the Thermoseal system. It has advantages over conventional EPS, as it is water repellent with low moisture absorption, dimensionally stable but mainly because it is energy efficient offering up to 20% better thermal insulation performance.
